The First Year Program is a National Rifle Association based program starts Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017 from 6 to 8pm through July.

The Advanced Program (second year and up students) will convene April 7th, 2017 until June 30th on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Friday @ 6:30 to 8:30pm at the Turkey Shed (lower range).

The SHC’s Youth Rifle Marksmanship Program is run by NRA Certified Instructors volunteering their time to teach the participants safe rifle handling skills, shooting accuracy and reinforcing a positive and supportive learning environment.

The First Year Program involves rifle basics that include learning firearm safety, the parts and their function and basic marksmanship skills from the prone, sitting / kneeling and standing positions.

The program will involve book work initially.  Once that is complete, we’ll get to the range.

The Advanced Program is open to students who have completed our First Year Program.

We’ll primarily be using the Civilian Marksmanship Program Sporter format.

This entails 3 position shooting at 50 and 25 yards with standardized targets.

There will be more focus on proficiency and individual improvement.

Please plan on being at each session with your child.
